March 18th is a special day for me. It is my son Cory’s birthday. I do not celebrate his death day as some people do. I try not to be reminded of that painful day. It can’t be helped though because it was Mother’s Day and my daughter Ke’ili was diagnosed on the 35th anniversary of Cory’s crossing over the rainbow bridge.

Last August, I started a podcast called Talk Stories with Shirley Enebrad. I was invited to sign up for PODCASTHON 2026. It is an amazing collaboration by thousands of podcasters. Each chooses a charity to focus one episode on between March 14th and 20th.
To honor Cory mine drops on his birthday.
I chose Blood Cancer United. It was formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They are the foremost foundation that offers research, education, and support for blood cancer patients and their families.
Unfortunately, they were unknown to me during Cory’s five and a half years of treatment, but this wonderful organization helped fund the research for Car T immunotherapy. That is what Ke’ili had almost a year ago. She is by all accounts doing very well. We are grateful.
The lovely cancer survivor that I talked story with Laurie Adami- had Car T eight years ago for her lymphoma. The courage she displayed throughout her long cancer journey is truly inspiring.
Please join Laurie and I on March 18th. If you know anyone with blood cancer, let them know they should take a listen, too.
Bloodcancerunited.org helps with research, education, and support for patients and their families.
Be well,
Shirley
