Even in silence, love leaves traces

As I look at this photo of a misty cemetery, I’m reminded of how grief has so many layers.

Each candle and flower placed on a grave is not just an offering—it’s a symbol of love, memory, and connection that lives on even after someone has passed.
Being in spaces like this teaches me that while grief may feel heavy, it also carries a certain quiet beauty. It’s a reminder that love never disappears; it simply changes form.
Over the years, I’ve come to see that there’s no single “right way” to grieve. Some feel sadness, others feel anger or guilt, and many find themselves wrestling with questions that may never have answers.
What matters most, though, is allowing ourselves to feel and giving others the gift of presence. Sometimes we don’t need to say much—just being there is enough. I hope this image, and these words, remind you that you are not alone in your journey of remembering and healing.
With love and aloha, Shirley 🌸 Mahalo
