Sadness can affect your health

My heart has been aching the past few weeks.

I have been going through another wave of sadness about the death of my brother and was amazed how it triggered the avalanche of feelings about my other many losses. So, I have been paying attention to the number of headaches back pains and stomach issues that coincide with my feelings. The wave of feelings knocks me down at times and I won't deny how much pain I have endured. But, it has made me stronger emotionally but less strong physically. So, before I start rambling I just want to say that the first step is knowing/acknowledging and the next step is to shift your thinking and to try to focus on positive thoughts. I know that sounds silly and easy but it is not I promise you. I have kept myself busy in an effort to not have time to think sad thoughts but this weekend I vow to come up with a list of positive memories and stories so that I can laugh again...even if just for the weekend. Be Well. Shirley
